Four days. No explanation.
- No customer complained. It was pulled in a sweep of the catalogue, days after going on sale.
- I appealed. They refused — and gave a completely different reason from the first one, dropping the original without comment.
- Neither reason quoted a single sentence of the book. The final objection wasn’t about anything in it. It was that it looked like a “medication guidebook.”
- When I pushed back, they suspended my entire publishing account — every title, including books nobody had ever raised a word about.
- I got it back by agreeing, in writing, to remove any book that didn’t comply — with a standard they still would not state. The ebook came down. That was the price.

That’s the part I can’t tell you.
They removed a book about extending human healthspan, and in four separate notices never once said what was wrong with it.
Maybe it was a machine that saw the word peptides on a cover and sorted it into a bin. That happens, and it would be the dull answer.
Or maybe a book that lays out what’s actually coming in longevity medicine — plainly, with the evidence graded honestly, priced at ten dollars — is an awkward thing to have sitting on a shelf.
I genuinely don’t know. Neither will you, because they never have to say.

Why did Amazon ban The Longevity Map?
They never said. The paperback was removed on 8 August 2026 during a review of the catalogue. The first reason given was abandoned on appeal and replaced with a second one: that the book looked like a “medication guidebook.” That is an objection to a category, not to a book. Across four notices, no passage, no claim, and no error was ever identified — and no reader had complained.
Was it banned for being dangerous or inaccurate?
No. Amazon made no safety finding and identified no inaccurate or harmful content. The stated objection was to the category of book, not to anything within it. The book is educational, carries a medical disclaimer, and does not instruct anyone to take anything.
Did Amazon suspend the publisher’s account over this book?
Yes. On 11 August 2026 the whole account was suspended citing the same title — not just that book, but every title published under it. The account was reinstated after the publisher confirmed in writing that he would unpublish any titles not meeting the Content Guidelines, with a warning that further violations could affect the account. Amazon did not say which titles those were, or what standard to apply.
Can I still buy The Longevity Map?
Yes. It is sold directly for $9.99 as an instant EPUB and PDF download. The text is complete — the only change from the Amazon edition is that a resources page moved from the front of the book to the back.
